On 2nd May, a startling complaint was filed against HD Revanna, accusing him of kidnapping and unlawfully confining a woman. Allegations surfaced that the woman featured in incriminating videos of Prajwal, alleging sexual abuse by both father and son.

Prompt action by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) led to the rescue of the woman from a farmhouse linked to HD Revanna's associate. While HD Revanna sought anticipatory bail, the Bengaluru Court rejected his plea, leading to his subsequent arrest on 4th May.

In another development, a former panchayat member lodged a complaint with the CID against Prajwal, charging him with rape under IPC section 376. The complaint cited Prajwal's alleged threats and coercive actions, leading to repeated acts of sexual violence.

The CID registered multiple charges against Prajwal, including rape, sexual harassment, and voyeurism, under relevant sections of the IPC and the IT Act. The issuance of a Blue Corner Notice against Prajwal by Interpol underscores the international dimension of the case, aiding efforts to track his whereabouts.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has refrained from intervening in the investigation, emphasizing the need for a fair inquiry. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi condemned the alleged crimes, urging stringent action against the accused and support for the victims.
